Market on Wheels Grocery Shopping Service

In addition to meal delivery, we also offer grocery shopping to our clients AND to others in Lehigh County who can cook, but have difficulty getting to the grocery store. It’s flexible, affordable, and growing every month! Annually volunteers complete 1700 shopping trips!

Here is further information about what Market on Wheels has to offer:

FLEXIBILITY: Volunteers will shop on a weekly, biweekly or monthly basis; as well as evenings & weekends if needed! Volunteers will go to the store on behalf of the client and return with the groceries.

SECURITY: All volunteers are trained & have PA State background checks & reference checks. Receipts & documentation of all shopping trips are provided.

AFFORDABILITY: The service is only $5.00 per trip

CHOICE: Clients can pick the grocery stores that they like, as well as use coupons and store discount cards! They can also pay for their groceries using a variety of methods: Cash, credit card, SNAP, checks, or gift cards are all accepted.

COMFORT: Clients have the same volunteer for each visit, so they get to know them well.

DIVERSITY: Many of our volunteers are bilingual or are fluent in sign language.

SIMPLICITY: A caseworker from Meals on Wheels will go to the prospective client’s home to fill out a brief Market on Wheels application.
